The Quantum Engineer

The Quantum Engineer

A practical path from classical software engineering to quantum computing, quantum information, and research.

This book is written for one specific reader: a professional software engineer, starting from Iran, with no quantum hardware, aiming at serious international quantum research and engineering — while deliberately building skills that stay valuable as AI gets stronger.

The organizing principle is:

mathematics → physical intuition → quantum information → computation → engineering → research → frontier

and not "here are 47 Qiskit tutorials."

How the book teaches

Every chapter moves through five levels:

  • Level 1 — Intuition. You understand what is happening physically.
  • Level 2 — Mathematics. You can express it formally.
  • Level 3 — Implementation. You can implement it yourself.
  • Level 4 — Engineering. You understand its limitations on real hardware.
  • Level 5 — Research. You can identify what remains unsolved.

Finishing chapters is not the goal. Climbing levels is.

Laptop-first, by design

Every concept that can be experimentally explored without privileged hardware is explored that way. Whenever the book says "a real quantum computer is required", it immediately asks: what can we reproduce or investigate locally? Your geographic limitation is treated as a constraint the curriculum is explicitly designed around, not as a blocker.

The book is bilingual — English and فارسی — switch languages anytime with the button in the sidebar; you stay on the same chapter. It runs with zero dependencies and works completely offline: serve the folder locally and read.

What you should end with

Not "congratulations, you learned quantum computing", but:

That is the actual career objective.
