Part XVII — The Laboratory You Don't Have
The book's promise has been implicit so far: real quantum engineering without institutional resources. This part makes it explicit and tactical. Two laboratory tiers are available to you today: the simulation laboratory (unlimited, free, and where 90% of professional quantum engineering actually happens) and the remote-hardware laboratory (real qubits through cloud queues — accessible from anywhere on earth with an internet connection, sanctions included, via the free tiers that exist precisely to be open). A third tier — physical experiments at your desk — is smaller than the hype suggests but larger than skeptics admit, and Chapter 65 maps it honestly: what you can build, what you can't, and when buying equipment is actually worth it.
